2Fort

Post by Ouch on Tue Nov 27, 2012 9:21 pm

For some reason the bots bring our flag back to the blue base from under the water. I'm under the water all the time and I have been seeing this for some time now.

Oh wow, yeah that's a bit odd. I think that our bag in the mid bridge somtimes glitches them out. Like they try to go around go get it again if they have low health. Sad thing for the bots is they can't pick it up lol, but they sure try! Very Happy

Anyone remember the Christmas version of 2fort...Santa and a snowman suit on the bridge, you get one of the suits I think you got quad power, and a specific song to the suit you picked up would play? Don't know if it was a map mod that the server admins enabled, or a valve/steam enable similar to the "Happy Birthday" on the games anniversary.

Yep! If you got the Santa suit, the song went along like "Ho Ho Fuckin Ho..." by a dude in a Aussie accent, and if you grabed the snowman suit, I think Ironman from Black Sabbath played. Also, the bridge was frozen, so if you stayed on it too long you would loose health. I had a DVD full of 2fort maps that I shredded a bout 5-7 years ago. Kinda bummed that I did it now as all the good map sites are gone.

Re: 2Fort

I finally figured out why they often have multiple flag goal locations on the included foxbot waypoints. The more of one goal you have the more it seems to override the tendency of the bots to camp the other goals, such as the flag cap point.
As usual the bots seem to want to go after the flag more than play defense but I compared the behavior to the standard 2fort waypoints and they do a similar thing with the standard waypoints. I have tested these to make sure they are running the flag and are capable of building their sgs but I'm not sure how effective they will be with a server full of people so I appreciate feedback and complaints.

Got to play xmaswell3 today. Fun map, too bad only 4-5 of us were around to play it. Medal Of Honor said that some folks are having issues with downloading xmas2fort, so people shy away from selecting it? Hope it's an easy fix. Thanks all for bringing back a couple of old school maps back into play! Smile
